Edube

An AI tutor that teaches understanding, not answers

Edube is an AI-native education platform for Polish high-school students preparing for the matura — built on the philosophy that students should reach real understanding, not just receive answers.

We're building it end to end on Open Mercato: a Feynman-inspired AI tutor (chat and real-time voice) that explains, asks diagnostic questions and adapts; a knowledge tree covering ~30 curriculum subjects; and LLM-generated assessments, flashcards and exercises feeding an adaptive learning path.

Tech wrap-up

  • Feynman-style tutoring over chat and real-time voice (OpenAI Realtime), with tool-driven lesson state — progress, mastery checks, illustrations
  • Knowledge tree of curriculum "atoms" with per-atom proficiency tracking and spaced-repetition flashcards
  • LLM-generated diagnostics, tests and fill-the-gap exercises, graded automatically
  • Per-student AI usage metering with cost observability
  • Open Mercato backend: Next.js, MikroORM + PostgreSQL with pgvector, Meilisearch
